Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
Description of the Group's Activities:
Dismissal at Mass to go over the readings in a way that affect our lives today. How we can live in this world and still follow what Jesus taught. Discussion on the way it affects us and the working world, family and friends. Learn to trust one another as people of God.
Skills/talents needed from volunteers:
First to be yourself, trust in what you know about God and your faith and be willing to share that with others. Life's experiences are the best way to share your faith openly. To be willing to ask if you don't know the answer and not ashamed if you have to ask. A willingness to learn with the RCIA people.
Time commitment involved:
You are required to leave Mass with the RCIA candidates and catechumens. Therefore, you will have to go to Mass for yourself at a different time. You may have to do some reading on your own to make sure you understand what each reading is about. Books are given to you for this purpose.

How this ministry can positively affect lives:
To see others grow in faith with a loving God. To better understand your faith yourself. To share what God has blessed you with. To share fellowship with the whole church through the love of the new Catholics.
