Description of the Group's Activities:

Read first and second readings at Mass and sometimes prayers of the faithful.

Skills/talents needed from volunteers:

Good speaking skills and a willingness to become familiar with readings.

Time commitment involved:

About one and a half hours as needed for a funeral on a rotation basis; two to three times a year.

How this ministry can positively affect lives:

Proclaiming the word of God is a great ministry and a sense of comfort for the families. Increases your own belief in eternal life.
