Art & Environment

Description of the Group's Activities:

To plan for and decorate the church in celebration of the different liturgical seasons.

Skills/talents needed from volunteers:

An understanding of the liturgy would be beneficial in order to better set the climate, atmosphere and mood of the Liturgical celebration. A willingness to work with others. A knowledge of flowers and greenery would be helpful, but not necessary.

Time commitment involved:

Four to six hours primarily before Easter and Christmas and perhaps another eight to 16 hours during the year if a diocesan workshop or church tour is offered.

How this ministry can positively affect lives:

In encouraging the parish toward fulfilling its responsibility to celebrate all forms of liturgy with fullness, gracefulness, authenticity and most importantly, with active participation by creating a climate of hospitality.
