Description of the Group's Activities:

Sewing sleeping bags for the homeless from used blankets and bed spreads.

Skills/talents needed from volunteers:

Simple sewing skills. As long as you know how to pick up a needle and thread, you will be shown how to make simple stitches to assemble the sleeping bags.

Time commitment involved:

Once weekly for two hours from September to April.

How this ministry can positively affect lives:

Besides supplying the homeless with the sleeping bags, it makes you realize what difficult circumstances some people live in daily. So many of these people have underlying problems that contribute to their way of life and must be treated with a sense of compassion. Meeting each week also contributes to a fellowship with each other.
