Service Ministries
We have nine baking teams, having captains and co-captains, depending on team size. Each team is called upon in rotation, to bake for different social events at St. Regis Parish. All teams are called upon to bake for the Mardi Gras and parish festival.
Help to give a general cleaning of the church a week before Easter. Many hands make light work.
Assembling various materials for distribution to the parish members. For example, Advent brochure, festival tickets and inserting the calendar in the Sunday bulletin.
We try to raise money and collect food items for the Trafford Food Bank.
Planning, planting, weeding, mulching, watering and general maintenance of the church grounds.
To assist members of the parish who may have special needs or who have short term situations that require help from outside of their household.
Contacting shut-ins to offer help with errands, transportation to appointments or just a visit.
Making phone calls to homebound parishioners twice a month.
Hosts funeral luncheons in our cafeteria. The food is prepared by a local restaurant and needs to be placed on the serving table.
To cook and deliver meals to families with new babies. To welcome the new baby and mom home. To get young families involved in church ministries by asking them to help with dinners for other families.
Nursing Home & Personal Care Home Visitors
This group makes personal visits to nursing homes and personal care homes where members of our church are living either permanently or temporarily.
Registration of blood donors. Thank people for giving. Walk donors from nurses' station to canteen. Always keep track if the donors are OK.
Fundraising to assist our sister parish in Mexico. Past fundraising projects have included an "outerwear fair" (used coat sale); bake sale and festival booth.
Sewing sleeping bags for the homeless from used blankets and bed spreads.
Ministry of caring involves sending cards to our homebound parishioners and those in nursing homes on their birthdays and special occasions such as Christmas, Easter or anytime you feel you want to brighten their day.
To help prepare crafts, materials, projects for religious education programs such as Vacation Bible School, Advent Activity Day, babysitting project and family activities.
