Because of the recent events, Bishop Kulick has implemented additional safeguards to ensuring a safe environment for children and vulnerable adults throughout the Diocese of Greensburg. 

As our policy has stated since 2015, all persons working or volunteering on behalf of a parish, school, or the diocese, 18 years of age or older must complete three separate criminal background checks.

 1) PA State Police Criminal History Report

 2) PA Department of Human Services Certification

3) FBI Criminal History Report.

These clearances must be renewed every five years. From this point forward, any employee or volunteer who is transferring positions between offices, parishes or schools will be required to renew their clearances and trainings, even if the documents are current.

Additionally, each person must also complete the Diocesan Code of Pastoral Conduct, the PA Mandated Reporter Training, and the VIRTUS Training.

We would like to make this as simple as possible.  Each committee chair/lead will be responsible for providing the names and contact information of the people volunteering for our parish. Parish staff will contact them personally and ensure all their paperwork is completed. No volunteers will be permitted to work/help without the above clearances and training. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.
